X Convenience has been announced as the first commercial tenant opening at Springwood, providing residents of Gawler and Springwood with barista-made coffee, groceries, a selection of fresh food and fuel, 24/7.
Expected to open in December 2020 with construction commencing shortly, the X Convenience store will be located in the Springwood Village Centre, on the corner of Calton Road and the soon to be opened Gawler East Link Road.
Springwood Project Director, Warwick Mittiga, said the announcement would deliver convenience to both Springwood residents and the wider Gawler community.
“We’re thrilled to welcome X Convenience as our first commercial tenant,” he said.
“This announcement signifies an important milestone in bringing the Springwood vision to life. It kicks off development in the Village Centre and brings a long sought-after convenience to Springwood residents and the wider Gawler community.”
The opening of the X Convenience outlet at Springwood comes following significant community support.
“We have had a lot of support from our customers in the north and we wanted to provide competition in the greater Gawler area that it has not had in the past,” said X Convenience’s State Manager, Rachel Stewart.
“We constantly have requests through our social media for an X Convenience in the area and we are pleased now to be able to bring our independent brand to Springwood.”
Warwick said the development of the Springwood Village Centre – which will be home to a supermarket, childcare centre, cafes and more – will provide critical amenity for Gawler and further deliver the overall vision of Springwood.
“With the first opportunities for retail and commercial development in Springwood being released and taken up, our residents and the wider Gawler East area now has easy options for their daily groceries. And this is just the first of a series of new retail openings planned,” he said.
