A better community
Building upon the natural attributes, history and spirit of Gawler, community lies at the heart of Springwood.
When you choose to call Springwood home, you’ll be joining a neighbourhood with a like-minded community, who stay connected through regular events held in Springwood.
But you’ll not only be part of the Springwood – you’ll be part of the thriving Gawler community too. No matter your interests, there are plenty of opportunities to forge new relationships and build a sense of belonging.
At the heart of the Gawler community is the Gawler Central Sporting Club, established in 1889 and sponsored by Springwood. Offering football, netball and cricket for children and adults alike, the club encourages all members to have a good time, on and off the field.
A better start

A better choice
The Village Centre is at the very heart of life at Springwood – the place where locals and visitors will gather, meet, shop, linger and socialise.
An X Convenience opened in the Village Centre in 2020, and construction is underway on a Where We Grow childcare centre and Drakes Supermarket. Set to open in 2022, the Springwood Drakes Supermarket will place an emphasis on fresh and local produce, and stock all the brands you know and trust.
Less than 10 minutes’ drive from Springwood you’ll find two major shopping centres – the Gawler Central Shopping Centre and the Gawler Green Shopping Centre – home to supermarkets, butchers, green grocers and other specialty stores.
Gawler’s bustling main street is lined with boutiques, hairdressing and beauty salons, medical surgeries, a library and post office, Target, Big W, cafés and restaurants, and local businesses, too.
Critical to modern living, all Springwood residents will have access to high-speed internet through an Opticomm Fibre connection.
This alternative to the NBN (National Broadband Network) delivers high-speed, reliable fibre Internet, via a fibre to the premises (FTTP) or VDSL (high-speed cable) connection. Free to air television within Springwood also runs through the fibre channel, meaning no television aerials on homes.
A better connection
Whether you’re commuting by road or rail, significant investments have recently been made on transport infrastructure, to ensure the connectivity to Springwood is second to none.
Gawler East Link Road
Springwood lies at the heart of an $80m infrastructure investment into major new road connections, including the Gawler East Link Road. Opened in 2020, this exciting new connection from Main North Road bypasses central Gawler and connects to Calton Road via
the new Springwood Village Centre, reducing congestion and speeding up travel times.
The new, six-lane, 15.5 kilometre Northern Connector motorway, which opened in 2020, provides a vital freight and commuter link between the Northern Expressway, South Road Superway and Port River Expressway.
Gawler Rail Line
Scheduled for completion in 2021, those working in Adelaide’s CBD will benefit from the electrification of the Gawler Rail line, delivering faster, safer, cleaner and more reliable service.
A better environment

Springwood is home to a number of innovative parks and play spaces – including the new $1 million, 9,000m2 Highfield Reserve with a nature playground – connected by over four kilometres of walking trails and cycle paths.
Hikers, bushwalkers, cyclists and wine-lovers will love getting out and about in Gawler and surrounds.
The world-famous Barossa Trail – a cycling and walking path traversing the North Para River and the agricultural landscapes between the Barossa Ranges and the Adelaide Plains – is right on your doorstep, linking cellar doors, cafes, artisan food producers and galleries.
