Get to know the Springwood team!

03 June 2016

Today our Construction Manager, Ben Tague answers the “QUICK 6”

1. Ben, what were you doing before you joined the Springwood team?

I have been working in the Commercial Construction industry for the past 8 years in a contract administration and more recently a Junior Project Management role. Most recently I have spent the past 2 years in Brisbane working for one of South East Queensland’s largest builder’s, McNab, where I was overseeing the construction of a retirement village – The Village Coorparoo Stage 4 – which won the UDIA President’s Award for best development in Australia in 2015.

Another project I am very proud to have worked on is the SAHMRI building on North Terrace (The cheese grater).

Albeit a slight change in track, I am certainly looking forward to learning the ropes in the land development industry and meeting new people along the way.

2. What do you love most about your job?

The constant interaction with people, the community engagement, the problem solving aspect and producing outcomes with a team that we can all be proud of.

3. What would you be doing if you weren’t working in the development industry?

Sports Journalism, like Gerad Wheatley with a bias towards AFL – the idea of sitting in a chair and analysing AFL and other sports would be great. I do it on a private level anyway and my wife just doesn’t seem to want to listen.

4. What are you listening to at the moment?

As I write this? R&B Friday – Kristal’s favourite… chicks…

5. What makes Springwood special to you?

The sense of community, and ongoing interaction with residents.

6. What is your motto?

Listen with the intent to understand, not with the intent to reply
